we are still at the rough draft, but so far our movie looks good, we have a lot of good shots and pout them together, but right now our message is a little week because of the length (3 min) and because of our closing stement which we are changing to fit our topic better.

effective psa

I think that we are gonna make a good psa. our psa connects with students at south high and it also shows how easy it is to make a change. We need to work on our angles and use angles that better show the emotion and the purpose behind our psa. Our psa can hit home for south high students especially because we target them and target the guilt that they may feel when they go out for lunch every day. we show how easy it is to not feel guilty and show that you cant loose with some effort.

What has been the biggest problem so far in our p.s.a group? Well I think that our biggest problem has been agreeing on everything. our group doesn't exactly see eye to eye, and that makes it hard to get anywhere.

over all I thought our groups pitch was great. we got a lot of great feedback from the class and also john and alex! it was like a rough draft for our story board and I'm glad we got the feedback. I think people liked our message! it is an original and powerful and important topic and our group is glad we can spread our opinions with classmates and public viewers of M.T.N. our target is mostly students and young people. I believe that the music we use and also the fact that its filmed in a restaurant that most south high students have been before will help the p.s.a connect with them personally.

blog post 1!

the role of a psa in our media culture is to try to inform our public about the subject of that PSA. If a group of people have a message they want to spread to people an effective way of doing that is through a PSA. Some of the topics our group thought of for our PSA where at first, nuggeting and distractions in school. And over pacageing of foods among students. We ended up chosing overpackaging of foods. I've always been pretty pasionate about unnesissary waste so naturally it was an easy pick.

McDonald's "happy meals" The happy meal is a selling device targeted strictly at young children. As most corporations know and love, parents are willing to do just about anything to make their kids happy. When a child see's these advertisements for the happy meal they have to get one! parents generally give in despite knowing what they might now know about McDonald's food.

The first MTN visit I learning what questions to ask about pieces of media. I also learned that media is the singular version of medium. In the second visit we learned how to make a story board and set up our media shot by shot! I don't know what clip I am gong to use and I cannot access youtube.com so I cannot look for one. Media literacy is important because it will help you appreciate movies, and other media. You are also exposed to what adds try to tell you. This will help you make a decision about if you should listen to that specific add is trying to convey
